Composition

Composing became my main passion in 2017 during my A-level years, when I wrote my first jazz composition at 16yrs old. I would pursue this for the next 6 years at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, undertaking a 4-year BMus(Hons) and a 2-year MMus degree in music composition. During that time I’ve written for orchestras, brass bands, jazz ensembles, string quartets, and solo repertoire.

Despite classical piano lessons, my musical taste was highly non-classical: Al Stewart, Billy Joel, Genesis, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Hozier, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen, Level 42, Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, and Steely Dan.
