Kai Moohan-Shotan is a postgraduate composer from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, England, specialising in contemporary classical, film, and jazz music.

In 2018, Kai was awarded a piano scholarship under the tuition of concert pianist Richard Meyrick; in 2019, he won the Philip Bates Prize during his 1st year of undergraduate study; since then, he has gained experience as a workshop leader at ‘In Harmony Telford‘ and instrumental tutor in the Services for Education.

Kai has written works for many spectacular musicians during his years of study, such as the Bozzini Quartet, The Midlands Sinfonia, BBC Young Musician Winner Jordan Ashman, flautist Rowland Sutherland, and saxophonist Trish Clowes. He has also received valuable tuition from esteemed composers such as Joe Cutler, Howard Skempton, Michael Wolters, Séan Clancy, and Ed Bennett.
